Maritime Folklife in Lincoln County
Content Standards Connections

This unit is very adaptable and supports student learning toward the content standards in a number of ways. The strongest connections are in social sciences and the arts.

  • observe and respond to work by traditional artists from Lincoln County.
  • identify maritime folk and traditional arts and their role within a regional community.
  • explain how folk and traditional arts reflect and artist's personal experiences as well as his or her occupational, regional or cultural background.

  • research in-depth a topic related to the unit.
